When I taught 2nd Grade CCD, my favorite "first day" activity was tracing each child's outline and having them color their portraits. They added their names and a few of their favorite things around the border. This took nearly the entire class, however, and I wondered of there was an easier way to accomplish the same activity.

The firefighters climbed into the basket on the high ladder and sprayed water all over the parking lot as kids ran through. Teen helpers monitored the little ones to prevent falls, and even some catechists got in on the wet fun! Share your best VBS ideas below!
